This place was good...before it burned down Ike 20 years ago. Perkins quality food at higher prices, I've never enjoyed going here and haven't ever gotten food that wasn't heavy and greasy.

Waitress was rude & incompetent the drink I ordered was billed as two separate drinks. The chicken in my fajita was very bland but the green peppers and onions were greasy. Waited 15 mins for a seat by the bar while the regular dining room was empty. We were the only people waiting to be seated.

TYPICAL HOMETOWN BAR & GRILL I've been coming here for years, and have had different experiences. The décor is very "campy", and has your eyes constantly moving to take it all in. I still don't understand the southwestern motif ?? One thing I do know : This place needs a DEEP CLEAN !!!! Service has been hit or miss, customer service is Not a priority for sure. As far as the food, I have never been truly disappointed, but not wowed either. However, when I first went there I always ordered the steak quesadilla, made with real steak. YUM YUM YUMMMMM But alas, that tender juicy steak started coming out as "all day chewing meat". Today I had the daily special of a turkey cheeseburger . It was VERY juicy and tasty, and it was special ! I even subbed French onion soup instead of fries, for only a $1 upcharge. I got a huge bowl, with croutons instead of a slice of bread on top which was perfect as I was on a date and didn't have to struggle with cutting the bread/cheese topping. It was a little strong, and a tad chemically tasting, but hey, this isn't exactly fine dining. It hit the spot on a cold January day. As for the $2.99 breakfast specials, what do you expect? The best part of the Oak Inn for me is that I met a great guy there that I ended up dating for 6 months. THE LADIES ROOM IS COLDER THAN A WELL DIGGER'S A___ !!!!!!

This place at least tries to please you. They only have 4 beers on tap. The bartender seems nice and is a hard worker. She likes tattoos!

Can't understand the reviews. we've ate here dozens of times and the food is always excellent. Their fried rooms are to die for. Good breakfast too!

The week day breakfast specials are not as good as one would hope. The service lacks. I've had a couple lunches in the bar that were OK. The bonus is wifi. It was better before it burned down and they rebuilt years and years ago. Not a place I frequent.

If you liked over cooked bland food then this is the place for you. Ordered my steak sandwich medium..was well done. The kids burgers were dry and crumbly. My fiance couldn't finish her chicken because it was so dry. Our first and last time here

As a North Branch resident for over 16 years, I still can't say much good for this restraunt. Average at best for food. Good service. Bad customer relations. New management needed.

The tables were kind of dirty, my food (grilled ham and cheese.. meh. The sweet potato tots.. I wouldn't recommend). No good beers on tap (boo). Our party of 15?was seated right away and had pretty good service. I'd rather go someplace else. Maybe if they got rid of the communal shelled peanut buckets I'd think better of them.

If you're a person who likes to speak in sentences longer than 4-5 speedy words at a time, then Wednesday nights at The Oak Inn are definitely not for you. You see, Wednesday night is Bingo night and that means a looooonnnng marathon evening of multiple kinds of Bingo with amplified sound to make sure that each and every diner hears each and every number called. Not exactly a recipe for quality dining conversation. Also, if you're a person whose baseline temperature runs around 98.6 degrees fahrenheit, and you insist upon eating here, I recommend you bring your down jacket, cause it was freaking freezing in here in the middle of the summer. Lastly, unless you have some sort of rare health condition that requires you to eat as much greasy, fatty food as you can, then you're gonna probably want to avoid this place, as nearly everything is fried. On the positive: Waitress was nice. Burger was tasty (but greasy). Like the neighborhoody feel of the place. In short, if you are an underweight, overheated individual who is training to be an auctioneer, than this may be your perfect training ground. Otherwise, I'd say this place may be one to miss.

Bad service. Bad food. Avoid if at all possible.

Basically a sports bar so don't expect much from the food. My daughter's burger was just about burnt. My cod basket was pretty greasy and the fries were ho-hum. My wife had about one slice of meat on her reuben sandwich. Affordable. Pretty much on the level of a Perkins or Denny's, except you're spending the money on a local establishment.
